“Father of light, from whom every good gift comes, Send your Spirit into our lives with the power of a mighty wind, and by the flame of your wisdom open the horizons of our minds.

Loosen our tongues to sing your praise in words beyond the power of speech.

For without your Spirit

We could never raise our voices in words of peace or announce the truth that  JESUS IS LORD.”

These words from the opening prayer of the mass signal the feast of Pentecost. Today we celebrate the birthday of the church as the Apostles filled with the Spirit began the work that Christ had given them.

Let us celebrate the great feast of Pentecost with a joy that reflects the presence of God in all of our daily lives. In the scripture it reflects that others thought the disciples to be drunk since they were so enthusiastic about the message that Jesus had entrusted to them and the presence of the Holy Spirit .How enthusiastic are we about our faith? Do people witness our joy in believing and following Christ?

Have a wonderful and a Spirit filled day. This is indeed the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad.

Come Holy Spirit fill the hearts of the faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit and we shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.
